Home Counties: 'Dad Bod'

Home Counties: 'Dad Bod'

The latest Alcopop! Records signings, Home Counties, have returned with their second single 'Dad Bod'; the latest offering from their upcoming EP, 'Redevelopment', due for release September 4th.

Following the acclaimed release of single 'Redevelopment', the band have proven their ability to write an observational record about the metropolitan white man. 'Dad Bod' combines wonky guitar hooks, witty lyricism, and a stomping drum beat that wouldn't be out of place on a Squid record.

The band consists of Will Harrison (vocals/guitar), Conor Kearney (guitar/vocals), Barn Peiser Pepin (synth/percussion/vocals), Sam Woodroffe (bass) and Dan Hearn (drums). Frontman Will explains that their new single, "takes a light-hearted standpoint listing the aesthetic traits and status symbols of modern men before moving on to address a darker side which is hidden behind the comfortability and respectfulness of a ‘Dad Bod’."

After spending time touring last year with the likes of Shame, Sports Team and Hotel Lux, Home Counties later recorded their debut EP at Brighton Electric with Producer Theo Verney, who has previously teamed up with Egyptian Blue and Lazarus Kane; a fitting CV for a producer working with a band whose penchant for speedy percussion has cemented them as ‘ones to watch’ in 2020.
